Our Story

The Wishing Barn began with a simple, real need:
to create a place where children could feel safe, understood, and not overwhelmed by the world around them.

As parents of autistic children, we saw something that many families quietly live with every day — children do not need to be fixed.

They need to be understood.

The Wishing Barn grew from that understanding into a gentle story world of calm, emotionally safe books, where children are met as they are and each story explores one feeling, trait, or experience at a time.

Inspired by our own children, Eva and David, The Wishing Barn is shaped by real life, quiet breakthroughs, and the belief that every child deserves stories that help them feel seen.

It is a story world designed to grow across books, learning environments, and wider storytelling — while staying rooted in the same simple idea: understanding begins with the child.

Because every child deserves somewhere they don’t have to rush to belong.
